Slowly, but surely...

my place is coming along. My new dishwasher is being installed as I type. Gone are the days of wrinkled fingers.

Next up: Stackable washer/dryer.

In love...

It's been several months since I posted about my home! All I can really say is...I LOVE! I LOVE having my own! Living cooperatively is more than a notion, but worth it! Iam happy and grateful everyday for my space and the ability to pay for it. I'm saddened looking around at my neighborhood overrun with foreclosures, unfinished developments and for sale signs, but I know that something better is in store. As for me, it's coming together, slowly, but nicely. I'm thinking a little house blessing in September or OCtober is in order.

Death of AT&T

I had to say good bye to At&T last week. They failed me yet again. Comcast was there t pick up the pieces. I now have working phone and internet service. If I didn't have an iphone, I would have gotten rid of my cellular service too.

Making progress

I'm so glad I didn't go to class this morning. The snow was coming down like there was no end in sight. I've been feeling so tired between work and trying to get unpacked that I couldn't rally myself up to digging my car out of the snow-packed space. So, I spent my morning unpacking my office instead. It's almost set up--four boxes down and six to go. I thought I'd come home from worjk this evening and finish it up, but I'm getting ready for bed.

And in the end...

So, the AT&T technician shows up at my place at 2 pm this afternoon. She called me on cell asking me to let her in the back gate. I told her that my dad was there and to buzz the front door so that he could let her in. She said she wanted to come in through the back way because she needed to access the panel outside on the ground level. I explained to her that she would have to go in and up through my unit (3rd floor) and out and down through the back door because I don't yet keys to the back gate. She told me to call my landlord. I got to say for a third time since closing--I own. :) Well, she launched into a whole tirade about how inconvenient and cumbersome going up and through my unit would be since she had to go in and out several times to run diagnostics on the line. I told her waiting 10 days to have phone service and being given the run around by customer service has been just as inconvenient. I let her know that she needed to work with me because I had been through the ringer with AT&T and if they couldn't getting my service working today, they've lost me as a customer. She griped a bit more, but I didn't worry about it. I knew that she would meet her match in my dad. I secretly wanted her to pop off at the mouth to him. I desperately wanted one of his animated descriptions of a run in with some nutjob. 90 minutes later, she called me back from my working home phone to tell me all was well. She also took a moment to give me a lecture on not letting my condo association dick me around on the keys. She was very maternal and told me to stop working my dad so hard. :) Oh yeah, she met her match indeed.

The problem with AT&T...

is that they are INEPT, INSANE and INSENSITIVE!

I called AT&T today to tell them that yet another day has gone by without telephone service. The rep tells me that they are aware of the problem and have to send a tech out to fix. Hold up--been there done that. See yesterday's post!

I tell this rep the situation and how when the tech left my place yesterday, he promised my service would be on by 5 pm. That hasn't happened. I asked why I wasn't notified of this ongoing problem. His response was that they are working on it. The problem is outside, not inside. Am I not affected by this problem outside I asked? His response: silence.

Where the fuck has customer service gone? Can somebody find it and tell it to call me.

So I ask, if another rep needs to come out, don't they need to come into my place? Were they just intending to show up and then note that no one home and then go about their merry way? His response: silence. The he coughed and said that no one needed to come in. He promised that my service would be fixed by 8 pm.

I hung up, certain that 8 pm tomorrow will come and go without the problem being resolved. But I've resolved to cancel this order first thing Wednesday morning if that's the case.

The problem with AT&T...

is that they are INEPT and INSANE!

I get a phone call this morning at 8:45 am from an AT&T technician. He's calling to inform me that he will be arriving at my place in 15 minutes to service my phone line. Not only was I not dressed or even awake yet, I wasn't expecting him. He arrived at 9 am, as he promised. I told him the situation and how my phone should have been working as of yesterday. All he could say was sorry. I told him how AT&T said access to my place wasn't necessary. All he could say was sorry. Fast forward 3 hours. He comes in from the alley to test the line from the inside--still not working, but promises that it will be working in by 5 pm today. It's 9:05 am. Do you think my phone is working? NOPE.
